Ski Tips for Beginners to Advanced
A wonderful site offering basic tips for the beginner. Safe skiing tips are offered and some practical drills are discussed to improve skiing balance and technique. Proper skiing instruction is the key to mastering the most challenging slopes. The following information is intended to supplement and enforce the skills taught by a knowledgeable ski instructor.  Beginners should first read the feature article "Ski Enthusiast's Challenge".

Four Drills to Ski Beyond Blues
Have students learn about their flexibility by performing a series of short tests. STRETCHING is usually one of the most neglected areas of a workout which greatly enhances your flexibility. It is highly encouraged prior to beginning each workout, during your workout and after your workout. This will help to maximize exercise performance as well as assist in the prevention of potential injuries.
Carving
Mastering various turns is one of the most challenging aspects in skiing. Both technique and balance are needed to maximize turns smoothly and efficiently. Photos, descriptions, and movies are offered to improve the movements of novice and intermediate skiers.
Ski Alberta
A comprehensive guide for the Alberta ski enthusiast. Offering ski conditions, events, resort listings, and practical tips to make the most out of your skiing adventure.

Check out our tips for beginners so you will understand each movement more quickly. Animations are also provided as we want you to see a particular move before you actually try it out. We hope that these sections will keep you going on the slopes.

How to Learn - "classic"
There are several good payoffs from learning cross country skiing techniques -- getting good winter exercise, making fun
moves, skiing with other people. For me the most interesting is that learning cross country skiing techniques is a special expression of what makes us uniquely human.
